Everything to know before you order
Width, drop, fullness and header: our guide takes you step by step to the right curtain size, standard or made to measure.
Before you start.
You need a tape measure and something to write with. Allow 5 minutes per window. If several windows are identical, one measurement is enough.
1. Measure the width of your pole or track
Measure the pole or track from end to end, not the glass. No pole yet? Allow the window width plus 30 cm, so 15 cm on each side.
Fit the pole 15 cm above the window and 15 cm beyond it on each side: when closed, the curtains cover the edges and keep out more light and cold; when open, the glass stays clear. Pole already up? Measure it as it is.
2. Measure the drop
Measure from the top of the pole (eyelet, rod pocket) or from the bottom of the ring or track glider (hooks) down to the floor. Ceiling track: the curtain stops 2 cm below the ceiling.
Curtains should just touch the floor, or break 1 to 2 cm on it for a softer look. Avoid stopping above the floor: the room looks smaller and draughts get in underneath.
Choose the width for a full look
Order a total curtain width of about 1.5 times your pole (recommended), up to 2 times for a fuller look. For a pair, divide by two. Example: for a 200 cm pole, two panels of 150 cm (1.5×) or 200 cm (2×). For made to measure, enter the flat width of each panel.
Standard size or made to measure
Pick one of our standard sizes, shown in centimetres and inches on each product page, or choose Made to measure and enter your exact width and drop, at no extra cost.
