Colour guide

Find the colour that suits your room

Light, mood and walls: three simple questions to choose a curtain colour you will love every day.

Before you choose.

Screens show colours differently. Look at the product photos in daylight, check the colour name on the page, and if you hesitate between two shades, email us a photo of your room: we will tell you which one works best.

1

Look at the light

North-facing rooms get a cool light: warm whites, beiges and taupes bring warmth back. South-facing rooms can take cooler greys, blues and greens without feeling cold.

2

Choose a mood

Neutrals make a room calm and bright. Deep colours such as navy, forest green or terracotta make it cosy and frame the window like a picture.

3

Match or contrast your walls

One or two shades darker than your walls gives a soft, tailored look. A contrasting colour makes the curtains the focal point of the room.

Layering tip

A white or ivory sheer behind coloured curtains softens daylight and keeps privacy during the day, while the curtains bring colour and darkness at night.

Light-blocking and colour

Darker colours look more opaque, but the light-blocking level depends on the fabric, not the colour. Check the blackout or room darkening badge on each product.
